Slow Cooker Manwich Chicken

“Slow cooker manwich chicken is a very easy, good recipe for chicken. Serve it over rice or pasta or use it with tacos! Great main dish meal!” – Geoff Brown, Kitchener, ON

• 2 to 4 chicken breasts, uncooked (can use frozen, fresh or any other pieces of chicken in this recipe)
• 1 (15.5 ounce) can Manwich Original Sloppy Joe Sauce
• 1/4 cup salsa
• 3 to 4 TBSP honey, optional
• 1 small onion, chopped
• 1 small green pepper, chopped

Serves 4

Place chicken breasts in bottom of the crock pot. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over the chicken. Cook on HIGH for 4 to 5 hours or LOW for 7 hours. Enjoy!

Geoff’s Notes:
– I prefer to first sear the chicken in a skillet on medium heat with butter, two minutes on each side, seasoned with our favourite chicken seasoning of “Club House Roasted Garlic & Peppers” seasoning, before placing the chicken in the slow cooker.
– Then scraping up the browned chicken bits left in the skillet with a splash of chicken broth (or water if you don’t have any chicken broth handy) and adding it to the other ingredients for extra flavour!
