Listerine was actually made to be used for many different purposes, and not only to be just a mouthwash.
It was created in 1879, as a surgical antiseptic with a lot of different uses, and in the 1970s it started to be used like a mouthwash for bad breath.
Here is a list of other uses of Listerine:
1. Eliminate fleas of the dog
Avoid using products abundant with dangerous chemicals, and just rub Listerine on the skin of the dog to get rid of the fleas.
2. Kills underarm bacteria and odor
Soak a cotton ball or cloth in Listerine and put it on your underarms to eliminate bad odor and kill the bacteria.
3. Clean the toilet
It can also be uses as toilet cleaner, just put some Listerine in a bowl and scrub the toilet with a toothbrush. The toilet will look whiter and have a fresh smell.
4. Eliminate dandruff
If you have dandruff, all you need to do is apply Listerine on your scalp and rub it nicely, and leave it some time, wrapped in a towel. After that just wash with water.
5. Eliminate acne
Clean your face and make it look shiny with Listerine of you put it on acne two times a day.
6. Clean the screens
Listerine can also be used as screen cleaner, just put some on a soft cloth and clean the fingertips and dirt from the screens in your home.
7. Eliminate garbage odors
Just put some Listerine on a paper towel and leave it in the garbage. It will eliminate all the bad odors and smells and give a fresh and nice smell.
8. Relieves itchiness and bug bites
Apply some Listerine on the skin where the bug bites are and it will soothe the itchy skin. It is highly efficient in cases of poison oak stings and poison ivy stings.
9. Treat toenail fungus
If you have toenail fungus just soak the feet for 30 minutes in a Listerine foot bath.
10. Disinfect the toothbrush
If you want to disinfect your toothbrush just leave it in Listerine for a couple of hours.
