You know how when you order an egg salad sandwich out somewhere it’s always somehow creamier and more delicious than you can ever seem to make it at home? We could never quite figure out why, or what it was that our egg salad was missing… until we came across this version. See, the secret ingredient here gives you the creamiest, BEST egg salad you could hope for. The flavor is restaurant quality but it has the comfort that only comes from home-cookin’. We doubt we’ll ever turn to another egg salad recipe again…
So what is that secret ingredient, you ask?
Cream cheese!
INGREDIENTS
- 9 hard boiled eggs, peeled
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons fresh herbs, chopped (such as chives, tarragon, dill, etc)
- 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
PREPARATION
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cream cheese and mayonnaise until well combined. Add celery salt, garlic powder, and salt and pepper and mix together.
- Add eggs to bowl, and use a fork to mash them up and mix into mayonnaise base. Add herbs and mix. Adjust seasoning as needed. Enjoy!
