SLOW COOKER MONGOLIAN BEEF

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 lb flank steak, cut into bite size pieces
  2. 14 cup corn starch
  3. 2 tsp olive oil
  4. 1 tbsp garlic, minced
  5. 12 cup soy sauce
  6. 12 cup water
  7. 14 cup brown sugar, or to taste
  8. 12 tsp fresh ginger root, minced
  9. 12 cup hoisin sauce
  10. 2 tbsp asian chili sauce, or to taste (optional)
  11. 1 onion, thinly sliced
  12. 3 large green onion, sliced diagonally into 1/2 inch pieces

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place flank steak and corn starch in a resealable plastic bag. Close the bag and shake to evenly coat the flank steak. Allow to rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Cook and stir flank steak until evenly browned, 2 to 4 minutes. Place in a slow cooker with garlic, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, ginger, hoisin sauce, and chili sauce, if using. Cover and cook on Low for 2 hours. Add onion and green onion and cook for 2 more hours.
